Balinese Calendar

Known as Pawukon, it’s a 210-day calendar brought to Bali in the seventeenth century by the Hindu Majapahit who fled Java at this time. It governs almost all ceremonies, anniversaries and auspicious days. The other Balinese calendar system is known as Saka, from South India. This is a lunar calendar and each of the 12 months ends on a new moon, called Tilem.
