The Village Homestay Experience
Most tourists only visit villages for a few hours. This package allows you to experience exactly how Balinese families live. After our free shuttle picks you up from central Ubud, we drive you to our quiet village of Taro You will sleep in a private standard room located within a functioning Balinese family compound. You will share stories, observe daily routines, and wake up to the sounds of the countryside.
The Cooking Class
During your stay, you participate in our full Farm-to-Table Balinese Cooking Class. If you choose the morning schedule, you start with a tour of the Tegallalang traditional market. For all schedules, you take a guided walk through our Taman Dukuh organic farm to harvest fresh vegetables and spices. Our local English-speaking guides teach you to use a traditional stone mortar to make Base Gede (spice paste) and cook a complete 6-course Balinese feast.

Option A: The Evening Arrival (1 Night / Half-Board)
Perfect for guests wanting a sunset farm tour. Your cooking class serves as your dinner.
- Day 1 (2:00 PM): Free pickup from Ubud and check-in to your private room.
- Day 1 (4:00 PM): Organic farm tour, followed by your hands-on evening cooking class. You eat the 6-course feast for dinner.
- Day 2 (8:00 AM): Traditional Balinese breakfast.
- Day 2 (9:00 AM): Cultural Activity: Learn to make Canang Sari (daily offerings) or traditional Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO).
- Day 2 (11:00 AM): Checkout and free shuttle back to Ubud.
Option B: The Morning Arrival (1 Night / Full-Board)
Perfect for early risers. Includes a morning market tour, cooking class for lunch, AND an extra traditional family dinner provided that evening.
- Day 1 (7:30 AM): Free pickup from Ubud. Visit the Tegallalang Traditional Market.
- Day 1 (9:00 AM): Organic farm tour and morning cooking class. You eat the 6-course feast for lunch.
- Day 1 (2:00 PM): Check-in to your private room. Relax or walk the village.
- Day 1 (6:30 PM): A traditional Balinese dinner is prepared and served to you by your host family.

The 6-Course Cooking Class Menu:
- Regular Menu: Tempe Asam Manis (Sweet & Sour Tempeh), Sayur Urab (Vegetable Salad with Coconut), Base Gede (Traditional Spice Paste), Opor Ayam (Balinese Chicken Curry), Sate Lilit (Minced Meat Satay), and Pisang Goreng (Banana Fritters) or Bubur Injin (Black Rice Pudding).
- Vegan/Vegetarian Menu: Gado Gado (Blanched Vegetables with Peanut Sauce), Tempe Asam Manis, Base Gede, Opor Tempe (Tempeh Curry), Bergedel Jagung (Corn Fritters), Vegan Sate Lilit, and Dessert.
Traditional Homestay Breakfast (Included in all packages):

Shuttle Schedule:

- Arrival: Please arrive at the central Ubud meeting point 10–15 minutes before your scheduled departure.
Please Note:
- The Location Dynamic: Your hands-on cooking class takes place at our Taman Dukuh organic farm, but your overnight accommodation is located down the road in our traditional family compound within the local banjar (village neighborhood). This gives you a 100% authentic look at daily community life, completely separate from the farm activities.
- Group Size: Exclusive experience. We only host one booking group at a time for the homestay to ensure you receive a quiet, personal experience and the full attention of our host family.
- Accessibility: Not suitable for wheelchair users. Traditional Balinese family compounds feature raised doorway thresholds, steps, and uneven dirt paths in both the banjar and the farm.
- Dietary Needs: Unlike public markets, we control the kitchen. We can perfectly cater to Regular, Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten-Free diets for both your cooking class feast and your homestay meals. Just inform us when booking!
- What to Bring: Please bring a small overnight bag, comfortable walking shoes for the farm, insect repellent, and a light sweater or jacket (Taro Village is at a higher elevation and can get quite cool at night compared to central Ubud).
Cancellation Policy:
- Free: Up to 7 days before the class starts.
- 50% Fee: Cancellation 4 to 6 days in advance.
- 100% Fee: Cancellation within 0 to 3 days.
- Changes: We offer 2 free date changes if you cannot make it on the day.
