The Market and Organic Farm Tour

We start with a free shuttle pickup in central Ubud. If you choose the 7:30 AM class, we take you through the Tegallalang traditional market to see how locals buy their daily produce. For all class times, you take a guided tour of our family-owned Taman Dukuh Organic Farm in Taro Village. You harvest the specific herbs and roots needed for your advanced recipes directly from the Gianyar soil.

Master Complex Spice Pastes & Sambals

In our standard Balinese Cooking Classes, you make one spice paste. In the advanced class, you learn the complex methods of making multiple pastes and local sambals. Using a traditional stone mortar, you learn how to select, chop, and grind raw ingredients to create Base Gede (traditional spice paste), Sambal Matah (raw lemongrass relish), and Sambal Kacang (peanut sauce).

Independent Hands-On Cooking

Our local English-speaking chefs provide expert instruction, but you take the lead. You prepare intricate recipes like Pindang Base Tomat (aromatic fish) or Tum (meat steamed in banana leaves). Because you are cooking up to 11 items, we break the eating into two sessions. You eat your appetizers hot, then return to your cooking station to finish the main courses and dessert.

Advanced Class Menus

We cater to regular, pescatarian, vegetarian, and vegan diets.
