Agriculture & Cultural Education
This is not just a cooking class; it is an interactive lesson in Balinese culture and sustainability. The excursion begins with a guided walk through our family-owned organic farm in Taro Village.
Students leave their phones behind and get their hands in the dirt. Our local guides teach them how the UNESCO-recognized Balinese Subak water management system functions, the importance of chemical-free farming, and how to harvest tropical roots and vegetables directly from the soil.
Safe, Hands-On Cooking
After harvesting their ingredients, students move into our spacious, open-air kitchen. We divide large groups into smaller, manageable cooking stations.
Our English-speaking chefs and dedicated kitchen assistants closely supervise the students as they learn traditional culinary techniques. To ensure maximum safety, we focus on safe, tactile tasks like grinding spices in traditional stone mortars, folding spring rolls, and molding satay onto lemongrass stalks.
University & Hospitality Masterclasses
For older students (like our IPBI and SPB partners), we can upgrade the curriculum to include advanced Balinese techniques, such as preparing complex Base Gede spice pastes, traditional slow-cooked meats, and understanding commercial kitchen hygiene standards.

Pricing
Because every school group has different logistical needs, transportation requirements, and student numbers, we do not use a standard flat rate.
- Capacity: 10 to 90+ Students and Teachers.
- Educational Rates: We offer highly competitive, discounted volume rates for recognized schools, universities, and youth organizations. Please contact us directly for an official quote and invoicing.
Evening Add-On for Boarding Schools / Study Abroad Groups
If your student group is staying in Ubud overnight, we can shift this schedule to the afternoon and end the excursion with our educational Bali Firefly Watching Tour to study local nocturnal ecosystems in the rice paddies.
Student Menus
Student Menus & Dietary Safety
We know that managing food requirements and severe allergies is the most stressful part of planning a school excursion. We take student food safety seriously. Our kitchen is strictly managed to prevent cross-contamination. When you book, simply send us your student dietary matrix, and we will handle the rest. We provide:
- Standard Menus: Mild, universally liked traditional Balinese dishes (like Chicken curries and Sate Lilit) that appeal to younger palates.
- Plant-Based Stations: 100% Vegan and Vegetarian cooking stations using fresh farm vegetables and artisan tempeh.
- Allergy & Halal Stations: Dedicated woks, mortars, and utensils for students with strict Gluten-Free requirements, severe peanut/nut allergies, or Halal needs, ensuring every student can cook and eat safely together.

Important information
Meeting Point:
- Direct Farm Access (Recommended for Schools): Most school groups prefer to use their own chartered transport. We advise using 30-seater or 35-seater buses maximum to safely navigate the local village roads. If bringing your own transport, your driver will drop the students off directly at our Taman Dukuh farm in Taro Village [Open in Google Maps]..
- Central Ubud Meeting Point: If your school requires transfer assistance from central Ubud, your group can meet us at Pura Dalem Puri Peliatan (Opposite Sens Hotel) [Open in Google Maps]. We will use our local shuttles to transport the students the rest of the way.
Excursion Schedule:
- Standard Start Times: We typically start at 7:30 AM (Morning), 12:30 PM (Afternoon), or 4:00 PM (Evening).
- Flexible Field Trip Timelines: Because you are booking a private educational excursion, your schedule is completely customizable. We will easily adjust the start time, duration, and eating breaks to perfectly align with your broader field trip itinerary and charter bus rental hours.
Please Note:
- Facility Exclusivity: This is a 100% private educational excursion. Your school will have exclusive use of our open-air kitchen, dedicated chefs, and dining pavilion for up to 90+ students and chaperones, ensuring a focused and secure learning environment.
- Student Dietary Matrices: We understand the strict requirements of managing student food allergies. Please provide your school’s allergy list (including Halal-friendly, Vegan, Nut-Free, and Celiac/Gluten-Free needs) prior to the field trip so we can prepare dedicated, cross-contamination-free cooking stations.
- Accessibility: Not suitable for wheelchair users due to uneven dirt paths and traditional stone steps on the working farm. Please inform us if any students or teachers have mobility concerns so we can advise accordingly.
- Location & Bus Parking: Our Taro Village organic farm is located 15 minutes north of the Tegallalang Rice Terraces. Our facility features a dedicated parking area with a safe turn-around space for large 30-seater and 35-seater corporate tourist buses.
- Curriculum Add-Ons: You can easily combine your cooking event with a broader Organic Farming Experience for a comprehensive agricultural field trip, or add the Bali Firefly Watching Tour if your students are staying for an evening excursion.
Payment & Cancellation Policy:
Because school excursions and large educational groups require us to block out our entire facility and schedule a high ratio of dedicated safety and culinary staff, we apply a structured payment policy for educational institutions.
- Payment Terms: A 50% deposit is required upon invoicing to secure your requested field trip date. The remaining 50% balance (along with your final student headcount and allergy matrix) is due 1 day before (H-1) your event.
- Free Cancellation: Up to 15 days before the excursion starts (full deposit refund).
- Deposit Forfeited: Cancellation 7 to 14 days in advance (we retain the 50% deposit to cover our blocked facility availability).
- 100% Fee: Cancellation within 0 to 6 days of the event.
- Date Changes: We understand school calendars can be unpredictable. We offer 2 free date changes if your academic or field trip schedule shifts (subject to facility availability).
