Highlights

Full description

The Morning Market Tour

Your morning starts with a free pickup in central Ubud. We drive straight to a traditional local market in Tegallalang. For 40 minutes, your guide shows you how Balinese families buy their daily produce and spices. You will taste fresh tropical fruits and traditional cakes while watching the morning trade before the heat of the day sets in.

The Traditional VCO Process & Farm Tour

Your experience begins with a free pickup from central Ubud. We drive you to the Taman Dukuh Organic Farm in Taro Village.

In our open-air kitchen, you start by learning how Balinese families use every part of the coconut. You will grate the fresh meat, press the milk by hand, and set it to cook over a fire. Because the traditional separation process takes approximately two hours, we do not make you wait. While your oil cooks, you take a bamboo basket into the garden to harvest the fresh vegetables and spices needed for your Gianyar-style meal.

Cook with Coconut Oil

This specialty workshop is a unique part of our Balinese Cooking Classes in Ubud.

You use pre-prepared virgin coconut oil to start your cooking class immediately so your food stays hot. You will prepare three traditional courses:

By the time you finish your meal, your own handmade oil will be filtered, cooled, and bottled for you to take home.

Let’s Get Crafting & Cooking! Your Balinese VCO & Culinary Adventure Begins

In our cooking class, you have the chance to learn and create 3 different dishes. You will get to enjoy all the dishes that you have made yourself.

Start By An Appetizers

Our cooking will start by preparing the famous Balinese satay lilit, a classic skewer that’s wrapped and twisted on bamboo sticks or lemongrass before being grilled to a perfect golden brown.

Continue To Cook The Main Dish

The highlight of the class is preparing the well-known dish, nasi goreng. We’ll use vegetables picked from the farm and Bumbu Bali, a local spice mix, to give the fried rice an authentic Balinese flavor. Plus, it’s easy to make this fried rice vegan-friendly.

Final Treat “Dessert”

The final treat in the class is the Balinese take on Banana fritters, known as Pisang Goreng. These are slices of banana coated in flour and deep-fried to a crisp, golden-brown finish. They’re served with a topping of freshly grated coconut and drizzled with a sweet palm sugar syrup.

Eat And Enjoy Your Dishes

We will be sitting and taking the breaks to eat all the deliciously prepared food along the way!

After the class, we will drop you off to Ubud.
