The Stomach-Safe Guarantee
As an established cooking school, we understand food hygiene. We know that many travelers avoid street food because they are worried about “Bali Belly.” We take the risk out of street eating.
Your guide will only take you to vendors that we have personally vetted for proper food handling, high daily customer turnover (meaning the food is never sitting out), and clean cooking conditions.
The Walking Route
We meet in the center of Ubud. Instead of walking down the heavily congested main roads, your local guide leads you through the quieter alleys, traditional market perimeters, and streets known only to locals. You will walk approximately 2 to 3 kilometers at a slow, comfortable pace, stopping frequently to eat, sit, and learn.
What You Will Eat (10+ Tastings)
We focus on actual Balinese food, not Westernized restaurant menus. Come hungry, as these tastings add up to a full, heavy meal. Your menu includes:
- Savory Meats: Babi Guling (Balinese suckling pig with crispy skin) and Sate Lilit (minced chicken or pork grilled on lemongrass sticks).
- Local Staples: Nasi Kuning (fragrant yellow rice) and traditional Nasi Campur (mixed rice).
- Snacks & Sweets: Freshly made Gorengan (crispy fritters), traditional Balinese cakes (jaje pasar) from the morning market, and tropical fruits you cannot find back home.
- Drinks: Local herbal tonics (Jamu) and traditional Balinese coffee.

Important information
Meeting Point:
- Meeting Point: Pura Dalem Puri Peliatan (Opposite Sens Hotel) [Open in Google Maps]. Your local culinary guide will meet you here to begin the walk.
Shuttle Schedule:
- Tour Start Times: Morning (9:00 AM) or Late Afternoon (4:00 PM). By request only.
- Arrival: Please arrive at the meeting point 10–15 minutes before your scheduled start time so we can begin the food tour promptly.
- Transport Logistics: Because this tour takes place entirely on foot in central Ubud, no shuttle transport is included. Please arrive at the starting point by foot, scooter, or local taxi.
- Flexible Arrangements: If you are staying far outside of Ubud (such as in Kuta, Seminyak, or Nusa Dua) and need a private driver to bring you to the central Ubud meeting point, we can arrange direct hotel pickup for an additional fee. Please discuss your transport needs with us when inquiring via WhatsApp.
Please Note:
- Tour Size: This is an exclusive, small-group walking experience (Maximum 8 people) or fully private upon request. This ensures you can easily hear your local guide and navigate crowded sidewalks without holding up traffic.
- Dietary & Severe Allergies: We easily customize the route for vegetarians and vegans. However, because we are eating at authentic street food carts and local warungs, we cannot guarantee a cross-contamination-free environment. If you have severe, life-threatening allergies (like a strict peanut or shellfish allergy), we do not recommend this tour for your safety.
- Accessibility: Not suitable for wheelchair users, walkers, or heavy baby strollers. Central Ubud’s sidewalks are notoriously uneven, narrow, and often require stepping up and down high curbs.
- Location: Our walking route takes place entirely within central Ubud, exploring hidden alleys around Jalan Hanoman and the traditional market perimeter. Our 4:00 PM late afternoon slot is the perfect activity after exploring the nearby Sacred Monkey Forest, and finishes just in time for you to walk over to the Ubud Palace for an evening traditional dance performance.
Payment & Cancellation Policy:
Because private classes require us to block out dedicated chefs and private kitchen spaces, we require a slightly stricter policy than our standard classes.
- Free: Up to 7 days before the class starts.
- 50% Fee: Cancellation 4 to 6 days in advance.
- 100% Fee: Cancellation within 0 to 3 days.
- Date Changes: We offer free date changes if your travel plans shift (subject to guide availability).
- Weather Guarantee: Since this is a walking tour, if severe rain prevents the tour from operating safely, we will automatically offer you a free reschedule or a full refund.
